3 Ways to come up with new content for your profile.

So you are growing your personal brand, a theme page or your business page perhaps. You’ve had some growth, and had some fun but you’re however long into the process and you are running out of ideas. Let’s get straight into the solution!

COPYING

Okay, I know what you’re thinking “you can’t just copy someone else’s content” … actually you can. IF you follow the one rule. CREDIT! Always credit the original creator. You are allowed to repost other users content providing you write “credit — *Users name*”. I run multiple instagram accounts, one of which is a dog theme page. There’s only so many times I can up to a dog and take a photo before being called a creep … thats why we repost. We find the most loveable, eye catching pups through growing hashtags and repost the content, giving credit and using different hashtags to the ones which the original post used. This is important because you don’t want to be showing the same content to the same audience.

Templates

Let's say you are the creative type but you just need a gently push, or you’re not the creative type and you need everything set up for you. Either way templates might be your answer. Using apps such as Canva is the perfect place to start. On canva you can search for giveaway templates, instagram posts, stories, news feed and blog posts. The list is endless, you can also find T-shirt designs but thats an article for another time. My point is, you can download Canva for free and find free templates. This should be enough to get the creative juices flowing.

Videos

The almighty instagram algorithm (HAIL INSTAGRAM) favours content which makes users stay on instagram for long. This includes portrait posts over landscape and videos over photos. It's the primary reason why IGTV does so well with exposure. Mix up your content between videos and photos and see which perform better. If you’re already doing videos, look into IGTV and using stories for new content. Not only will changing your platform inspire new ideas for content but it may also increase your growth and engagement on instagram. Videos work particularly well for a personal brand, hosting live Q&A’s and building up the hype for them through stories work well with an established following.

Quotes and relatable content

Quotes, memes, fun facts. All great ideas for posts. If you have a business page, use canva do make an attractive template and include a product photo or a customer review. This will increase your social proof and its a passive way to increase conversions. It’s important to make your feed look clean and consistent, my approach for this is to have a pattern. For example a photo, a quote and then a video, followed by a fun fact, product photo, customer testimonial.

Conclusion

Find inspiration, look at other page in your niche/industry and see what they are doing. Don’t copy their content but you can get ideas. See what’s working for them and implement it in your own way. Use resources such as canva for templates, pixaby/unsplash for free stock images. It’s worth noting that stock images need not be credited. In conclusion, you’ve proven that you can grow an instagram page to the extent that you have. The ideas above will only enhance your current skill set.

Very best of luck, you got this!
